I literally picked up this dude yesterday that OD'd and narcan'd him back no prob. Then today I got called for him again and he was dead. We did CPR for 15 minutes but the monitor showed asystole, so it wasn't shockable at all. So we had to call it on him <_< There wasn't anything we could do. No clue how long his downtime was, but he had a lot of health problems too. It sucked to have this happen so quickly between patient contacts.

The shortest I got was literally 5 hours between the same patient ODing. I took her to the same hospital and even the charge nurse was like "What the fuck! You were just here!" lol

I feel like addiction never ends. You can stop using it for years, but sometimes a bad mental event could easily set you off and get you back on your addiction since it always brought you comfort. I've seen it with ex-smokers all the time. It seems like type of thing you have to resist for the rest of your life. It's best to never even start >_>

Thats how all of my friends ODd. They had stopped using and then when they went back, they took the same dosage instead of scaling down. They felt so shitty and wanted to use so fucking bad that they didnt care to take it slow. They just wanted to be so fucking high that they couldnt feel anything. And I guess they fucking succeeded.

yep that's what happens to pretty much everyone around here. stay clean for a while, backslide once and die.

frame of mind is important.

You're not going to stop addiction simply by giving them a "zap" or by telling them their sins. They do not have a purpose great enough to fight for.

Were smack available at gas stations, instead of behind the gas station, there wouldn't be near as many ODs.
The ODs that would happen would largely be relapses, not someone getting some dodgy baggie of "stuff" that's mostly fentanyl and rat poison.
