There's a few easy exceptions: Bleach usually has a dilution table, and Toothpaste usually says 'use a pea sized amount'

Other than that, very vague.

I mean, I get that it's to promote people into overusing a product so they buy more... but it's still unhelpful.

Ive noticed. What i hate more is box instructions for a meal. "Cook on high x amout of minute then turn the heat down and let sit for x amount of minutes" turn the heat down how much exactly? Medium? Low? Medium low? I only have a very basic understanding of how to cook so I require more specific instructions unless i wanna go the trial and error route but id rather not.

Generally it means turn it down low enough that whatever you are cooking ends up at a slow simmer. So you have to use your eyes. See what the food is doing. Then adjust accordingly. Stoves don't typically have quite as precise temperature controls as an oven so you just have to work it out for yourself.

I'm not sure where you're looking, but most things seem to have some kind of instructions. Given that you're kinda covering everything, I should mention that detergent bottles often have measurements right in the cap and other things are divvied into specific portions (like Tide Pods).

I thought they usually do include instructions as well... and if they don't, it's a case of use some, if it's not working, use more.

Yeah. Ive gotten it through trial and error or asking someone who knew if i had them available but I'm a bit of a perfectionist with things such as i try to get measurements absolutely precise and whatnot. So im not a fan of vague instructions
