Star Fox and Star Fox 64.

Now both those games are fucking awesome, but the rest of the series is so meh and idk how the fuck Nintendo can't just make a good Star Fox game again.

Star Fox 2 - I feel its overrated cuz it never officially came out until recently. I think it's okay but I'm not a fan of the level design (or lack thereof) at all, but 1 and 64 are definitely better

Star Fox Adventures - It was an okay adventure game, but it's literally not Star Fox and the "Star Fox" sections were pretty bad >_>

Star Fox Assault - The Arwing levels were good, but it's literally only 1/3 of the game. The tank and onfoot sections were pretty awful and broke the flow

Star Fox Command - Pretty bad. The story branching and wacky endings are cool, but the whole game is literally just flying in a generic square shooting enemies, chasing a missile, or flying through rings to destroy a base. It's just the same boring shit over and over again.

Star Fox Zero - The controls are fucking awesome and idk why the FUCK they felt the need to shoehorn in some fucked up controls just to justify the existence of the Wii U.

They are, however, selective in the application of this philosophy, as four nearly identical New Super Mario Bros. games can attest.

I feel Assault could've been a decent evolution to the Star Fox formula but everything in the game turned out mediocre. Just didn't feel like a polished experience.

Isn't 64 just a remake of the first one anyway?

They just need to look at what made 64 good and do that again but different levels. This is the type of game id be fine with only seeing every other console though.

First id rather see Nintendo start making a more regular thing out of kid icarus and metroid.

Ubi made a pretty good Starfox game without even really trying.
Maybe Nintendo needs to look into doing that again, but without the toys-to-life baggage this time.
