seriously, that game was like 100x closer than it should have been

OU is probably the most consistently underperforming program in the nation

talent-wise they are title contenders, they just never execute to the best of their ability

It's disappointing that barring something shocking occurring in the committee room, the only drama left is whether Georgia or Oklahoma gets in.

I'm going to root for Georgia just so there's more angry takes and we can get closer to an 8 team bracket .

I feel like if UGA wins and it's close, them and LSU are in. OU needed to win big and they didn't. The only real chaos would be caused by Clemson losing because you could make a case for giving them the boot even though they're definitely better than OU directly.

Usually I would say that the 1 seed doesn't really matter but I think it's pretty clear this year that the top 3 are significantly ahead of the 4 seed and that getting that 1 seed could be important in terms of not getting dinged up for the finals as much

Yeah, Georgia is done. I figured they wouldn't have the offense to keep up with LSU.

I guess the question now is if it's enough to vaunt LSU back up to #1. I think it should be if they maintain this margin. It's a better win than Ohio State beating Wisconsin for the second time.

UGA has been overrated all year. They shouldnt have been ranked ahead of Alabama until after Alabama lost to Auburn. I guess there is no good choice for the 4th spot, but i think most people would want to see a higher powered offense like Oklahoma there.

Well, I think we're at the point where Ohio State and Clemson will still be in even if they lose. No way they're jumping Wisconsin all the way to 4th in any circumstances.

Yeah LSU and Oklahoma punched their tickets, Ohio State probably has punched their ticket even with a loss (seeding is the only thing that matters here), the only thing is, if Clemson loses, is it Clemson, Oregon, or Wisconsin-if-they-win. nobody else is really in contention

Clemson was never in danger of not being in the final 4. Oregon and Wisconsin had zero chance in any scenario.

Only reason I'm upset that we are 2 is because it means we play in the Fiesta Bowl instead of Peach. If we had played in the Peach Bowl I'd have driven to the game as it's only like 6 hours. Flights to Arizona are going to be stupidly priced though, cheapest was $550 when I checked a minute ago.

I don't have a problem with the rankings, was just hoping we would be 1 so that I could go to the game.

Where are you from? I saw round trip prices to Las Vegas from Pittsburgh were like $110 a few weeks ago. Maybe flying to another airport and using a rental car for a drive is a better idea.

Well, bowl assignments for the SEC aren't strictly determined by record and placement in the league, so they can technically do whatever they want.

Most of these bowl games are not locked into a specific team by standings, so backroom BS like this happens all the time. But it isn't usually done at the last second, allowing it to be easily exposed by reporters.
