Well, since I sold my house over a year ago, I have just used a mattress on the floor. In fact it has almost been a year and a half. I didn't bother buying a new one after moving, wasn't even sure I was going to stay there long enough for it to be worth it.

But not only did I buy one, but tonight, I set it up and I am no longer sleeping on the floor!!

It feels weird after all this time to be so high lol. I feel like I'm floating a bit, and the bed isn't as stable as the ground (it doesn't wiggle much, it's pretty sturdy, but there is a bit..which is strange after the solidity of having a matress right on the ground.

I still need to do a ton of work tomorrow, setting up things around it (Tables etc) to put things on. But I am at least partially on the way to feeling like I have a real bedroom again, not just a room where I'm sleeping and using my computer/ps4 etc.

It's nice to see at least a bit of progress:)

I'm 5 11 1/2 (yep shrunk 1/2 an inch.....so weird), and this bed is an amazon basic...but really freaking high actually. It's just a frame and then a mattress but still higher then most bed frames I have had with a box spring, it's a bit over 4 feet off the ground in fact.

That is partially why I feel floaty lol.

I mean I'm in the same room, with everything at the same height as it was when I was on the floor, but now i'm 3 1/2 feet higher up then I was.....and for now it just feels strange. Will be much easier getting up out of bed though (Even if my back never seemed to have a problem in all those months....perhaps stretching it to get up from the floor all the time was helping?)

If that is the case I may have to go back on the floor lol (although honestly I didn't have problems much for the year before that, I think stress was making my back go out before...as that usually is when it did (when there was a ton of stress...which was all the time for the previous 8 years or so).

My bed base is low, top of my mattress comes around my knees. The space underneath it is barely high enough to store shoes in there.

Congrats on getting a base.

Thanks, only been a few days but I'm used to it again already lol. I mean, I did have a base/box spring most of my life. It is way better honestly, but you really don't notice until you get it back.

I still have not redone my room though, getting shelves/end tables etc around my bed so I have more space to put stuff on etc, but I will......probably within a month or so lol (I didn't actually put my base together till after I could no longer return it to Amazon lol).
