Not really. I find eating like this VERY easy to maintain. Plus i exercise religiously. People who fall back into old habits are not very committed in the first place.

Keto isn't a "diet", you can eat low carb for your entire life.

I've lost 203 pounds so far, but I'm doing a flexible eating diet and working out at a CrossFit gym 5x per week.

Ignore this guy's negativity, he's probably just reached a stage in life where he's bitter at other people achieving things because he no longer achieves anything himself.

Good on you, TC. Keep up the good work and don't get discouraged by small bumps in the road along the way - you keep going and you'll hit smooth road again.

0-20 is too low long term, very few human beings on the planet can go that low for years and not end up getting sick. long term the thyroid will start to underperform and health starts to go downhill, go to 50 carbs minimum if theres light exercise and if someone is exercising all the time then low carb is actually horrible and a bad idea. with heavy exercises and depending on the weight and the intensity some people need 200 to even 1,000 carbs a day to not actually get sick.

Jesus. Um, congrats on losing an entire person? Seriously, no offense intended. That's amazing. Just makes me feel weird because if I lost that much I'd basically be a skeleton and I'm considered borderline morbidly obese.

The meat is unhealthy rhetoric that nutritionists and vegans spew doesnt pass the smell test in regards to Hong Kong. Hong Kong has the longest lifespan while simultaneously eating the most meat on the Earth. They should be dropping dead like flies if the nutritionists are to be believed.

on the other hand, the inuits had and still have (when eating their traditional diets) very bad health outcomes and high mortality rates due to diet induced health issues, and their traditional diet is very fatty meat for the most part

Well no, its a hard reset to shitty eating habits. Once you get down to a healthier weight, you maintain it with a more normal looking diet. Buddy of mine went from 290 to 210 on Keto, and now hes maintaining at 220.

The traditional modern American diet is meat, seed oils, sugars, carbs, starches. The only healthy thing of those listed is the meat. Youre ignorantly blaming meat for what the other shit is doing to the body. We see the effects in the United States, we also see the effects in Mexico. My Mexican family have been victims to a bunch of diseases and they loaded up on them seed oils, sugars, carbs, and starches lol.

Notice how much less of seed oils, sugars, carbs, and starches that the people of Hong Kong consume compared to the United States and Mexico.

yeah but inuits who eat diets consisting of majority fatty meat die in their early or mid 60s on average. no processed food there and they die due to diet causes health issues earlier than people on standard American diets do (which we both agree is a terrible diet). seems to me that diet is more complex than a particular type of food being exclusively good or bad

all diets are "temporary", that's what make them diets instead of just "year long proper nutrition".

the whole idea that you "start" on a diet also means that at some point the diet "stops" at which point many people most likely and gradually move back to whatever they think was the starting point instead of just deciding that a healthy, nutritious meal plan(with room for snacks and whatnot) should be how they eat from day 1 until death.

i do love the deflection some people have exhibited so far ITT though xd.

Why is it so hard for you to believe some people can both go on a "diet" for a period of time and also change their long term eating habits?

that's not what i'm saying...

i mean what's the difference if you just removed the entire concept of diet from your own sentence and just wrote "change their long term eating habits"?

Why is it so hard for you to believe someone can be eating crap, do Keto for a while, lose excess fat, then move to healthier, more balanced eating in the long run?

because your example implies the possibility of failure.

my example guarantees a 100% success.

this is NOT a new concept:

Congrats! I lost about 15 lbs on keto before I started to plateau, and then fell out of it because I missed bread and eating meat all the time was expensive. Ive been able to keep the weight off since then, with relative ease.

My old diet consisted of fast food, rice and gravy, boudin, etc. Rice meals are a big staple in Louisiana. I threw all that out and now focus on meats, a little dairy, and fiber.
