It means there are a lot of middle-class white people and lower-class non-white people in your area. Presumably your area doesn't have a lot of Asians, since they are the only race that are richer than white people in the US.

On that note, the Olive Gardens in my area are probably 3/4 white, 1/4 asian in terms of customers, and then a bunch of college-aged white people as servers.

According to who? Because the sites I checked have them tied with Whites for first or right behind them at second for the lowest poverty rate.

St Louis is really weird because a lot of asian people go to the colleges here but when it comes to actual permanent residents you see almost no asian people at all

Very few hispanic people either. Its mostly an even split of white and black people

They're not even close. White people are at 8% for poverty rate and Asians are at 12%.

That's not what he said. He said whites are 8% of those below the poverty line, not that 8% of whites are below the poverty line.

Ahh ok, I feel like that's still off because, you know, white people are the majority by quite a bit so realistically they should have the highest % in any group. I mean there are entire states of white trash, like alabama, wisconsin, and mississippi
