Heck you'd probably never get fat even if you ate bacon burgers every day.

Just that bit of exercise helps. But the act of sitting for 30 to 40 minutes on the drive to and from work, and then sitting down in an office type setting... it's not healthy.

An ideal job for me would be one where they pay me to trek forests and take long walks on the beach. That's the dream.

One summer I biked to work even though I had a car and it's one of the only times in my life I had a noticeable six pack. Just a half hour to and from work each day and it was a big difference.

My only reason for not doing so now would be that I don't want to be walking in the door all sweaty and overheated and then have to regain composure/fix my look before starting work. I just go to the gym and then I don't care who sees me there or coming/going from there.

I ride my bike to work everyday from spring until late fall and then walk in the winter. My job itself gets me a lot of exercise too.

It's a great counterbalance to the fact that I have a terrible diet and spend most of my free time sitting on my ass drinking beer.

unfortunately i live in america so even though there might be sidewalks or bike lanes i see drivers just not give a shit and almost hit pedestrians/cyclists every week. even worse is when a cyclist is wearing bright clothing in a sunny day in a bike lane and a car wants to use it to save 10 seconds on their morning coffee run

i don't trust other people

I'm not going to walk 12 miles to work in the morning and 12 miles home in the evening. Especially when there's no fucking pedestrian route for most of the way.

If it's by the sea then the scene is always picturesque so they'd be biking by the ocean with a scarf flapping in the wind and that wonderful ocean breeze passes by... it's amazing.

Just got back from a brief beer run bike ride. It's only about 16 min, and about 2 miles.

Having said, that I used to bike to work for a while, it was 7.1 miles.
But at the time I was doing it because I had to, so once I got a good car and kinda stopped.

It was actually nice, I felt like I got to work more warm blooded, and was able to properly wind down after work. Ironically, the time difference between driving a car or bike was like only a minute and a half.
