NightingaleMD 09/03/19 1:52:18 PM #1:	Parents: We didn't trust vaccines! Not sure what they'll think now that their 16 month old had a seizure and died from a completely preventable illness. I actually saw him yesterday but checked the chart and kid is gone with nasal PCR positive for pertussis. Classic case. Marked leukocytosis, seizure, etc (the "whoop" isn't always in younger kids) Second death I've seen from pertussis, the other was about a year old and we flew to Michigan for ECMO before they finally let the kid go from multi-system organ failure. OTOH, people not vaccinating their kids are a fantastic way to weed out idiot families. Not sure what else to think. Can't force people not to be morons. Vaccinate!
