The prequel trilogy was awful. The new trilogy basically ruined the franchise. Rogue One was one of the best too. For what the whole series is, which is mostly simple popcorn flicks watched in the theaters, they are fine. I mean, the acting and story has always been not that deep but it's not meant to be imo. The first 3 yes, are the best of the series and E1 and E2 were absolutely a drag to get through, but E3 and all the most recent ones have been just like, your standard "shut your brain off and watch a space opera" style of movies to me, which are fine. I'm not going into these films expecting some acting or writing masterpiece.
