18 y/o Hannah Jones was accidentally SHOT IN THE ARM by her MOTHER after she came home for a SURPRISE VISIT from college as she mistook her for an INTRUDER!!

The mother told 5-0 that she was home alone an expecting no one when her daughter openedthe door to her bedroom at 9pm and quietly said "Mom" and that's when the mother fired a single shot from a .38 special REVOLVER!!

Hannah said "She had no idea i was coming and thought someone broke in to hurt her and as i ran through the door she was in fear for her life and shot me"

Authorities did not give more details to Dailymail other than what the mother and daughter said

Jones was treated at a hospital as the mother has a concealed weapons permit and was visibly distraught

The police said they will collect all the facts and will present it to the prosecutor

Jones posted her graphic right arm that was shot and said she crouched down and let out 2 SCREAMS and told her mother to call 911 but that her mom PANICKED and froze and couldn't call.

Instead, Jones' boyfriend had just arrived and called 5-0 who said "My girlfriend just came home from college and her mom didn't know, like honestly, she accidentally shot her and we don't know what to do"

Jones said she felt faint and went outside with her mom to wait for an ambulance but then was able to regain her compsure

Doctors found bullet fragments in her elbow which was broken in 3 places and underweight surgery to have 8 screws and plates attached to her arm as Hannah said she is beyond thankful she is still on this earth and that it will be a long painful journey to recovery

Should this mother have her concealed permit taken away?

nope. the mother acted like a normal person should.

she didn't know anyone was coming, all she knew was someone burst into her bedroom while she was asleep when no one was expected to.

also, when it's in your own home, you don't need a concealed carry permit.

She seems fine, I guess. Shit happens... At least her boyfriend was able to call 911.

Sounds like he either may have known already, or came back with her (if he was at college with her). Or something...

Seems a bit ridiculous to shoot the second someone opens a door though, I mean it could be anyone and it's likely a higher chance it's someone you know.

If you know somebody has a gun, why would you try to surprise them in their bedroom?

Why? Among other issues, this incident happened in the home. And honestly, had she used a different gun, this could have wound up worse.

lolwut? The mom is living alone and not expecting anybody. If the daughter was living in the home, she certainly wouldn't have done that.
