An Employee at a BP Gas Station in Wisconsin accidentally set the price of midgrade to 28 CENTS per gallon instead of 2.89 as police responded to the BP Business in Brookfield after reports of a suspicious number of vehicles were coming and going out of the spot

Once at the station, the officer realized there was no wrongdoing through damage to machines or tampering but simply a human error...

The imputing mistake for "Silver" midgrade was made by a clerk before closing at 9pm and drivers took advantage of it to fill up for a tenth of the price

Some paid less than 5 dollars for a tank's worth of gas and more than 100 people in total took advantage of it

BP were quickly notified and altered the price back up to 2.89 per gallon but not before losing 3500 in total revenue

The price of gas has not been that cheap since the 1950s as body cam footage showed a long line of cars waiting to take advantage of it

One officer said "Is this like the opening weekend or what?. There's nothing suspicious going on, it's literally people waiting for gas. Excuse me, mind telling me what's going on here?" a driver says "Good gas, that's all"

Prices returned the following day as ABC asked people what they thought where one man said "I wish i could fill my gas tank for under 5 bucks" who paid over 41 for gas that day

Dailymail contacted BP for a response but neither responded and didn't say what will happen to the employee

Would you fire the employee if you were BP?

Oh wow, a whole $3500 in losses for a company that makes millions on a daily basis. How will they ever recover?

BP takes in this much revenue in about 0.36 seconds, and makes this much profit in about 9 seconds.

How much of that is one location, though? That's probably enough to get the store in trouble on some level.

It's very possible this is a franchise location which means one guy lost that out of pocket and the overall company didn't feel it all.

So that justifies it in your mind

Yes? Especially when you realise fiat currency is basically monopoly money today.

You do realize this station could go out of business over this, yes? BP the company won't feel it, but the locals will.

This station is a little over an hour away from me and the price it was supposed to be is significantly higher. But that's what I'd expect for a place that close to Milwaukee.

Uh. Corporations are funding pretty much every anti-nationalist movement today, as well as actively working themselves against the right of peoples to govern themselves as they see fit (see google).
