An extreme marathon held in the northeast part of Russia is known as the world's coldest race. It took place in Oymyakom, where temperatures often dip below -50 celcius or -58 farenheit during the winter. Frostbite is a real concern in this frigid part of the world, but that wouldnt stop 16 runners from participating on January 5th, 2019. The runners were in their early 20's to early 70's. They could choose to run 5, 10, 20, 30 or 42 kms. Tourists came around the world to see the frost covered athletes huffing and puffing over the frozen taiga. Organizers plan to run the event next year.

I used to roll with a dude who did 100k mountain runs. He might be up for it. No normal person would be up for that.

sweaty in extreme cold is about the worst condition you can be in.

I sometimes work outside in winter in below 0F conditions. At -35 with wind we pretty much don't work because there will be no productivity. At that temp, we absolutely wouldn't, and that's with full gear on.
