Expensive watches are one thing Ill never get. Like sure you can show off how rich you are, but a watch is probably the least amazing thing you could buy with that kind of money and thats ignoring that their purpose of telling time is basically obsolete when cell phones and other electronic devices with clocks in them exist

I mean, IMO if you are going to wear a watch you may as well spend the money to make it look nice (cheap/ugly watches are gross), but by that I mean like $250, not $250K.

Well yeah, but why would you wear one playing a sport like football where it could be destroyed fairly easily too? A broken status symbol is pretty meaningless

I mean, this has been a thing.
Bubba Watson plays golf (It tells swing speed) and Nadal plays tennis using one. Not football i know, but I'd imagine they are built like tanks.
