OctilIery 09/09/19 11:06:10 PM #1:	It Chapter One used a script borrowing heavily from the abandoned Fukanaga script, and we were left with a wonderful take on the book that clearly loved it, throwing in references and nods all over, and doing a great job conveying the themes, tones, and spirit of the book while changing elements to better fit the film medium. It was a lot of fun, and while not perfect was a movie deserving of the adoration it got from both fans and non-fans of the book. There was no Fukanaga script for Chapter 2. Instead we get director Gary Dauberman, whose best writing credit is fucking Annabelle. That really helps understand how Chapter 2 had such a massive change in tone towards the book, and why it was such a poorly made movie altogether.
