So in Eldest, Nasuada funds the Varden by using magic to mass produce lace. But if lace suddenly became very abundant, wouldn't it's value drastically decrease?

Didn't King Orrin bring that up to Nasuada? He said Du Vrangr Gata were putting the lace makers of Surda out of work, and that's when Nasuada offered him a loan at a reasonable rate of interest.
