personally if I dislike a video I just close the tab immediately and move on, not bother doing anything else

They put the dislike button there for a reason.

I'll leave a dislike if someone drops a spoiler or something (within a reasonable period). In that case I try to leave some constructive criticism.

I have to absolutely hate a video to hit the dislike button.

This happened to me once. This channel called "rabbidluigi" dropped a MASSIVE spoiler for "A Way Out" with zero warning. Made me so angry that I instantly disliked and unsubscribed. People in the comments were raking him over the coals pretty well, but I didn't want to get into an Internet argument with anyone who could potentially raise an army of diehard fans against me.

The spoiler would seriously hamper your enjoyment of the game. I'd beaten it, but I hate that he ruined that aspect for everyone else.

That said, I follow a lot of (low sub/view) channels that are just videos of cats. Who the fuck dislikes those?

There are legit reason to dislike a video, and non legit reasons.

The biggest non-legit reason is that people make fake alt accounts to downvote bomb spam a video.
