He said he's going to try to see if he can get me on full time and that he's doing his best to convince leadership. Otherwise he might be able to get me extended (I'm on a temp contract) but again, he's doing his best.

And here I am thinking of how horrible it would be to be an employee for an org like this whereas I've bitched to my coworkers about being a Temp. Now all I can think about is finding something else to do.

Indirect employment is indeed bullshit. The contractor takes a cut of what would otherwise be your total compensation.

This is very true. On the other hand, working this job for another year is a horrifying thought.
