Mainly looking for tips on how to get a quality Tux/Suit for myself and my Groomsman for a reasonable price. Any merchants out there that people may not have heard of other than the big ones like Men's Wearhouse, Jos. A Bank, etc?

Depending on how often you wear a tux, you can buy one for as much or less than a rental (minus shoes, tie and shirt). I have to wear one 2-3 times a year so it was a smart investment for me.

Whatever you do, stick with classic styling and colors.

I just got married last Saturday.

I did a custom 3-piece tux for myself with a butterfly-style bowtie, pocket square, and cufflinks. My groomsmen had $200 3-piece tux rentals. Boutonnieres were brought in by the florist.

Boutinnieres are a nice touch. Shame there are so few opportunities to wear them.

Lol yeah, it makes for a dapper look. My groomsmen all wore one style and my now father-in-law and I had another style. We're going to preserve them.

I rented one for my own wedding, forgot how much it cost me. It wasn't too much, and it was slim fit. It wasn't true slim fit but it was better than the regular fits everyone else was offering.

In retrospect, I sorta wish I bought one, cuz I could've reused it at my siblings weddings and best friends weddings and stuff. And what I would've done is gone to one of these online tailors like Black Lapel, Suit supply, etc where you just enter your measurements and they send you a custom made suit. My brother bought like 3 suits over the last few years from them, they are very nice suits, well worth the price. Fit perfectly. Exact desired style. Next suit I get will definitely be from there. I'd never buy a pre-made suit again. A tuxedo probably would've costed like 600 bucks but I dunno. Its quality that could've been reused.

Grooms usually get their tuxes fee, but the groomsmen will pay ~$200.

I've had two friends book with Generationtux.com, both were really happy with it. I considered buying the suit I rented.

There's nothing like a custom suit/tux. You choose the fabric type (Super 100s, etc), interior lining, lapel design, and even choose if you want to have your name/initials imprinted inside the coat. Prior to this, I would just special order the slim fit ones and have the tailor adjust when they came in. Those were fine, but the fit wasn't quite like what you get on a custom. Even my shirt was custom and fit like a second skin.

They already have my measurements so whenever I want a new suit (I might get a gray one in a couple months), I just walk in and point out the design I like. Never ever getting anything off the rack.

And yes, my tux was bought. I've got another wedding coming up in November.

I don't know what a bespoke tux costs, but I got mine for $185 at a suit shop in my city's garment district and got it tailored. It has long since paid for itself, since I have to wear one at least twice a year. Everyone thinks I'm crazy for suggesting buying a tux but if you wear it twice it's more than paid for itself. You just have to know how to store it properly, and not over dry clean it.
