Make a film set 35 years after the last reported xenomorph attack starring Newt and her daughter whom she's raised to defend herself against the possible threat of new xenomorph encounters. Signourney Weaver may return as Ripley if she chooses.
Alien 3 and its continuity need to be erased or, at the very least, demoted to the role of deferred timeline. Or we can just let Nintendo purchase the alien series and canonize that Newt grew up to be Samus. That's what should've happened anyway. ... Copied to Clipboard!

I think they were going to do a direct sequel to Aliens but it got cancelled.

Originally Neil Blomkamp was supposed to make a direct sequel to Aliens that would've ignored the continuity of Alien3 and Resurrection

Alien Isolation was so good. I'd take an adaptation of that if Sigourney Weaver isn't interested.
