I know this stuff is the basic of basics but I haven't taken a statistics course in many years. Anyways, I know how to find z score and everything. What I do not remember is finding the z score between two different data points.

For example, what is the z score between 5 and 7 using the data from the histogram? I can't find anything concrete on the internet. Admittedly, I did not search super hard but yeah. What would the score be? We already have the mean and standard deviation.

Isnt the z score just the number (7 or 5) minus the mean divided by the standard deviation? A quick Google search should have no problem finding that

So she would use the 7 or the 5? It wants the data between those.

If you want the z score between them, you do it twice. Once for 5 and once for 7. Then say you get like 1.5 and 1.7...then your answer is "1.5 to 1.7."

Ah, I see. My line of thinking was it would have to be one concrete answer. I pulled out my old college notes from long ago but I couldn't find much since they're worn out. I was making it more complicated than it actually was. A mistake I make far too often. Thanks.

No problem, at least I think that's what you're asking lol. Kind of vague tbh. If you want the z score, yes, that's what you'd do. If you're actually looking for a concrete percentage, theres one more step. Shoot me a pm if you have any more questions, and I'll try to help.

Yeah, that's what she was looking for. Really appreciate it.

There should be a z score table online that shows the corresponding percentile on the bell curve. Find the two z scores, convert to percentages, and then find the difference between the percentages to get the answer
