It's basically Contra with dinosaurs. Between it being a game nobody talks about, and it receiving a spot in an Angry Video Game Nerd episode, I was afraid this was going to be a **RARE GAME** with a $120 price tag. But, no, I snagged a copy yesterday for $12.

I pop it in and I'm immediately greeted to the most spoken dialogue I've ever heard in a cartridge game. I'm sorry to say the dialogue is shit, and the cutscene characters look like anime characters drawn in MS Paint, but it was a neat surprise to see a full conversation rendered in an SNES game. The gameplay is fluid. The visuals are nice. The tyrannosaurus in the second mission is beautifully rendered. And I love how the velociraptors are both swift and devastating without feeling cheap like in the first SNES Jurassic Park game. This is one sequel which is immeasurably better than the original.

I didn't expect to find another SNES game that would wow me.

I remember the first Jurassic Park on Genesis and SNES were completely different, one was awesome and one sucked, I just don't remember which was which.

I looked into it, it was definitely the SNES one that was great, there were two campaigns, one as Grant and one as the Raptor. It was amazingly innovative for it's time.

It's the Genesis game which lets you play as Grant or the Raptor. The SNES one had you playing as Dr. Grant in a semi-3D perspective with the occasional first-person section.

I never played the SNES games.

The first Genesis game was pretty fun though. Had a super chilling atmosphere that I loved.

I got that game for christmas and I love it. My only complaints is that it's hard as fuck (and you need to play on Hard mode to get the best ending) and there's no save feature. I still know the infinite continues code by heart lol >_>

Agree. Extremely difficult also. I really enjoyed renting this game back in the day.

It is. I have a soft spot for JP1 on SNES also, even though it's objectively terrible.

I think the only creatures in video games that could possibly put me more on edge than the TRex are those fucking Dianogas in SW: Shadows of the Empire.

The Genesis Jurassic Park was the good one. Same with Aladdin. Fuck the Lion King games, though.

So, I just read the instruction manual for this game. Apparently, the dude in body armor is supposed to be Dr. Grant.

AhbTJ7x

Yeah, looks just like him.

Also, the Lex Luthor wannable from the opening cutscene is apparently supposed to be Dodgson ("We've got Dodgson here!") from the first movie. I always thought he was sent by Hammond's rivals as a liaison. I had no idea he was the one running the operation.

With a few tweaks--and the ability to save--it could have been a great game. It was so close to being a really fun game.

I remember playing a Jurassic Park 2 game back then in the mid late 1990s. Cant remember if I played the Sega Genesis version or the Super Nintendo version

I liked the NES game which more or less ran on the same engine.

Jurrasic park 2 was also different between systems. On Genesis it was called Lost World and you could play as a TRex
