People would always hate on pop when I was growing up, but I found it was great in a few different ways. You had fast songs with catchy chorus, dramatic songs with groovy instrumentals, lyrics that had real emotion etc.
Now I feel like the garbage of the hip-hop genre made its way into pop music and now pop is just another form of mainstream hip-hop. Zero emotion, empathy, compassion or groove, just all trash. I don't think pop and hip-hop artists even got along with each other that well in the 90s and had Madonna as inspiration instead of 50 cent or whatever modern pop takes inspiration from nowadays. --- ~Nintendo 64. Because you were younger, and pop is basically aimed at youth. Now you're older and looking at pop the same way the people who hated it back then did. Your just old. 90s style pop is still alive it just shares the stage. Though I guess I should ask, what artists you think of when discussing 90s pop?
Also people didn't really hate on Madonna pop, they hated the fast catchy songs with nonsensical lyrics. ... Copied to Clipboard!
