Fox News is reporting that "the Pentagon, State Department, and National Security Council were 'unanimous' in supporting the aid to Ukraine, and that Trump acted alone in withholding the aid over the summer."

They are also standing by their story that there were two other "off-the-books" attorneys on this effort along with Giuliani despite denials by the three of them.

It's interesting to me that the House healthcare plan in 2017 was basically universal basic income. Just replace the language of "refundable tax credits" with "$X per month" - it does not change the meaning, just the description!

In fact, the House plan was more progressive than most calls for UBI nowadays in that it phased out the handouts for the affluent. For a single 26-year-old, you would get no handout if you made above 100k. By comparison, under Obamacare your subsidy would cap out around 31k and you would have to spend it on healthcare.

This is especially disingenuous to compare to UBI when you consider how the price of health insurance had been inflated and gouged beyond what it should actually cost.

And the fact that to receive a refundable tax credit you still have to be able to pay out of pocket first, only to be reimbursed later. So only people who are decently well off would even be able to afford to benefit from such a thing.

The judge has said the Jury is allowed to consider Castle Doctrine. The cop could potentially be considered to have the legal right to stand her ground and murder the guy because she THOUGHT she was in a place where Castle Doctrine would apply.

Gotta love the system!

My dad got one in the mail. He thought it was the census form. I took a look at the questions, and immediately recognized it was NOT.

The big deal, though is this part at the end: It asks for a donation -- but there's only two boxes. One for a donation of $25, $50, $100, $250, $1000 and $Other. The second box is saying that they're enclosing $15 to help pay for the cost of processing my Census Document.

This is particularly shady, because people who don't know better -- mainly senior citizens -- will think that the documents are actually census documents that they HAVE to fill out, and therefore HAVE to make a $15 donation.

The Democrats do something similar -- BUT they clearly label it as a survey, not a census. And say "Official Party Business" in place of "Official Document".

Seems like this should be illegal.
