But pro wrestling is due for another boom period now.

I bet this will be really good for both side, but better for AEW simply because after a year I think its going to be NXT that does the big numbers because of most people will be flipping back and fourth and Fox isnt going to like Raw not getting those numbers

I may give AEW a shot but i don't know who half of their roster is. Only reason i may watch is because of Jon Moxley.

AEW hasn't really impressed me with their PPVs yet. Their Battle Royals are a clusterfuck.

Not really dude, I hate to break it to ya. Neither AEW or WWE have any stars, they got names but no stars. Even back when wrestling was popular it was still a niche audience. Its sad to think the last star was John Cena.

As part of WWE Premiere Week, new voices will be brought to the Raw, NXT and SmackDown broadcasts.

Raws new announce team will include play-by-play from Vic Joseph with Dio Maddin and WWE Hall of Famer Jerry The King Lawler serving as analysts;

NXT play-by-play will be called by Mauro Ranallo with Beth Phoenix and Nigel McGuiness as analysts; and

SmackDown will feature Michael Cole handling play-by-play, Corey Graves serving as analyst and Renee Young as a Special Contributor.

In other news -

PWInsider has several notes on WWEs new studio show on FS1, WWE Backstage, which was officially announced earlier today:
Renee Young, who will be hosting the series with Booker T, will be leaving the RAW commentary team to focus on the new job. She will be the lead personality for the show and will not any commentary for WWE at this time.
The shows set will look like its inside a wrestling ring, complete with yellow ropes.

It will be pre-taped once a week through FOX, not WWE.

Cathy Kelley will have a big role on the series. She will divide her time between WWE Backstage and NXT.

Several WWE legends have been brought to Los Angeles to audition for a show, with the idea of having different personalities on different weeks. There may be others on weekly, but FOX hasnt finalized that yet, as theyre still trying things out. Rey Mysterio and Paige (who live in California) have both auditioned.

FOX has been toying with different versions and presentations, which included ranging from 3-5 different personalities. A final decision has yet to be made.

I didn't see the allegedly part when I first saw it either. So just take it for a rumor right now

This could be big news. We just reported earlier today that WWE believes that CM Punk wants to return to WWE, and that the company did not want him for their FS1 show WWE Backstage. However it seems that at least part of that isnt true, as PWInsider reports that Punk was at FOX Sports studios earlier this week in Los Angeles. He was meeting about a possible on-air role for the show. Renee Young was present at the meeting and Punk tested for on-camera material. However, it is not confirmed that he has signed for the show at this time.

Punk is not the only personality that FOX is bringing in for the show, as Taz has been brought in several times in the past few months for a possible role. Paige, Rey Mysterio and Sean Waltman have all been brought in as well.

WWE Backstage debuts on November 5 and will be hosted by Young and Booker T. It is being produced by FOX, not WWE, so if Punk does get the job, he would be working for FOX.

Ahhh, it's for the WWE/Fox show, "Backstage," not a backstage role like a Road Agent

This Backstage show might be pretty good if it's out of the WWE's hands and more of a Fox things. It's really shitty that Dish lost the channel, lol. I fucking hope it's the AEW owner fucking with Vince and pulling some strings

WWE has officially announced that Skillets song Legendary will be the new theme song for RAW, replacing Papa Roachs Bound for Greatness. As we previously reported, WWE is planning to bring back opening videos for both RAW and Smackdown. Smackdowns theme song is expected to be Are You Ready by AC/DC.

DISH Network dropped FOX from their service, which is bad news for WWE fans that might want to watch Smackdown next week. However, there are still options. There is an app called Locast that carries Fox that is free and available in select markets. Meanwhile, FOX.com offers programming in real time on their website.

I've been watching NXT since it moved to TV, and I'll start DVR'ing it to watch the next day once AEW starts. I gave RAW another chance last night and it was fucking garbage, so I don't have high hopes for Smackdown on Friday, but I'll give it a chance too.

The new episode is already up on the Network, but don't know if it was live. I'll assume it was. It's not like Raw and Smackdown! where you have to wait a month or so

Also, despite some rumors, Hulu has NOT dropped Raw and Smackdown!. They only deleted the old episodes because their contract ran out to have them. They have a new one now for the new Raw and Smackdown! replays
