Well it wasnt made by Rocksteady. People consider the series a Rocksteady series.

Plus it got an unwarranted amount of hate when it came out for... reasons I guess. Nerds gonna nerd rage.

I liked it.

Haven't played Knight though so it's still the weakest of the Arkham games I've played.

I didn't particularly enjoy the fact that if you missed getting the Predator upgrades on specific early-game missions, you're pretty much screwed for the whole game.

Other than though, it was okay.

I liked it. It wasnt as good as Asylum or City, but I still had a lot of fun with it. A common criticism I heard with it was more of the same, but with the Arkham series... thats a bad thing why, exactly?

I still can't get an "I am the Knight" run in on that game.

I've tried so many times. It's always a predator segment where I slip up and try to go to fast.

On Arkham Knight I can get pretty close to the end of the game without dying once. Last time it was the Batmobile vs tunneling machine segment that I survived up to.

I dont think Arkham Knight is as bad as people say. Sure it wasnt as good as the first two but damn it was gorgeous.

And fun. But the difficulty spike was fucking stupid. I really want to try to do more of the extra stuff to see project Knightfall but Id probably end up smashing my controller

I know, but I love Batman and my ocd makes me want to 100% these games. The amount of riddler trophies is ridiculous though. And Knight basically forces you find them all to unlock the full endgame. I dont think we even get to see an actual ending or end credits unless you get them all

Usually when I see people talk about the game they call it the worst game in the sereis.

Plus no Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill? That's an objective flaw.

out of all four arkham games

I liked all five of the games that I played, Asylum, City, Origins, Blackgate and Knight. Yes, I liked Blackgate. Still got VR to try though, and never played Lockdown. The HD version of Blackgate is better though, it added some respawning enemies so backtracking wasn't just walking through empty areas, and the larger screen helps with clues.

The Riddler puzzles are the only reason I play the Arkham games lol. I usually rush through the storyline to unlock all the gadgets and stuff needed to get everything.

I have that Achievement. You can just reload to last checkpoint when you're about to die.
With that in mind, I was really lucky because I somehow managed to do it without reloading lol

But yeah Origins is a good game, but it got so much undeserved hate because it wasn't made by Rocksteady and it was fairly glitchy at launch.

Storywise, it is probably the best of the Arkhams.

I never finished Black Gate though. I should probably do that someday.

Just played Asylum and City. Part way through Origins, now. There are a few things that irk me about it.

One is the progressive challenge system. I've done something twice previously but they didn't count. It only counts if I do them after doing another thing. In the previous games if you did it, it counts.

Some of the challenges can only be done in certain places. I got "Unseen" a few times but it only registered in a specific room in the Final Offer. Additionally there's a risk of missing it entirely if you haven't done the preceding challenge before you get there.

The areas seem poorly designed for backtracking, which is necessary for many of the Riddler collectibles.

Here's a bug I found, after defeating The Electrocutioner I went back for some of the collectibles. When I re-entered the arena there's dialog about The Electrocutioner escaping. Except his body was still laying there. At the time I was puzzling over why I couldn't take his gloves for those power boxes I'd seen littered all over the place.

Some plot holes...
Why does Slade have a bat themed weapon?
How does Batman have a working Grapnel Boost when Alfred said they weren't done testing it in City?
Why did Batman need the Freeze Blast in City when he already had Glue Grenades to access secret areas?

The glue grenades are explained in the Cold, cold heart DLC which is set one week after Origins's campaign.

The single best piece of DLC of the Arkham series IMO.

It was buggy as hell when it came out, in fact no one could 100% the game without cheating until the second of third patch came out because of a certain bug. Once they worked out all of the bugs, it was actually a decent game.

My only real complaints are that Troy Baker was kind of a boring Joker (Rodger Craig Smith was actually fine as Batman), the multiplayer was unnecessary and got abandoned weeks after launch, and the DLC wasn't all that great.

Asylum had a much better story and atmosphere for me. I enjoyed the boss fights more and the Scarecrow part was epic. It felt new and fresh. City expanded on things sure but it didn't feel as fresh and lost the atmosphere Asylum had. I also love Manhunt so. While I'm at it Knight actually did Bats better than city save for the boss fights.

Sorry I was in a bad mood when I made that post, still stand by my opinion but shouldnt have been such a dick about others having a different one than mine

Im gonna have to completely disagree, I think City expanded on everything Asylum did and was a true sequel: bigger, better, more fun, combat expanded, story bigger in scope (I think it has a better story than Asylum) and just feels like an upgrade in every way

I guess atmosphere is better in Asylum, its a more tight experience if youre looking at just that but I prefer all the other improvements and thats what makes the City way better overall for me.
