A bunch of people on another site are talking about how expensive it is to buy games at $60 each. I mentioned that MSRP is practically sucker price and you can save a lot by waiting for sales and buying used, and I'm actually being downvoted and called a liar. They're actually claiming the difference between new and used is only about five dollars.

Gamestop really has these guys by the grapes. I bet a site like Cheapassgamer would blow their skulls wide open..

I was at Walmart the other day and out of habit went by the video game section and they were selling brand new games even new 1st party Nintendo games for $50 a pop. I don't know if it was a giant sale or if they're that desperate to get people to buy physical over digital, but I was pretty tempted to get something. But yeah paying full price is always a choice and people who think otherwise are ignorant... Then again if you were on a site where people can downvote... What were you expecting?

A lot of the time, their games wont ever go on sale and then they go out of print, making used copies cost more than the original MSRP. Still trying to get a reasonable price on a second copy of SoulSilver

That was one of the games I saw on sale for $50 yesterday. Off-topic, but a GB remake should never have been more than $40 at most to begin with.

I never really understood why. I mean, it's still a full game, and for a system that's both home and console. And it's a totally redone game. I mean, they added new puzzle, I think. A dungeon creator. Made the pot door easier, I think. And is the same price as other full games. Which, as people say, it cheaper because of inflation. And I'm pretty sure I've seen other games that were remade that had the same price as a full game where people didn't complain about it. What does it having to be on a portable system at first have to do with anything? I don't really understand...

This is why i dislike upvote and downvote systems. It doesn't matter what you say it's who says it most the time. Still it's very easy to wait for sales and/or for games to lower in price these days. Even more so at this time of the year when many games come out and we have things like black Friday, cyber Monday and so on. Hell games like Borderlands 3 are going to get a complete version at some point so waiting for that is even better.

This isn't true. It's about where you say. Every sub has a community approved opinion and if you stray too far from that you will be slammed with downvotes and abuse.
