Is the issue actually that the Earth's history is not the same as humanity's history? And then there is the particular concept of anthropogenic climate

They haven't seen the proportions of it.

Carbon levels have been oscillating, true, but current levels are the highest they've ever been, by quite a bit.

Don't be dumb you guys. You know exactly what people are implying when they say that. And the only reason to play dumb is because you agree, but don't want to be responsible for your views.

To spell it out, people say this as a coded way of saying that human caused climate change is not happening or that we can't do anything about it which are both empirically false statements.

Yeah. It's amazing how everything in nature seems to have a negative feedback loop.

The climate used to be a lot more humid and have a much higher concentration of oxygen, such that it would be deadly to most lifeforms today, including humans. Does that sound like a desirable climate to you?

If we stop climate change then we are going to run into a more serious problem down the road when the human population reaches 20 or 30 billion. And it will be far more destructive and difficult to recover from. So I have a hard time getting too passionate about the issue one way or another. Earth's population needs to be reduced to about 2 billion somehow.

Overpopulation is more realistic of an issue than climate change for sure

I have a hard time believing the science community wont crack straight up controlling earths climate with clouds seeding and similar techniques

Except now instead of volcanoes it's manmade CO2 and methane

This. We would of had a perfect world if the dinosaurs didn't stomp all at once causing Pangaea to separate. Now the planet has had a bunch of shit happen to it. Now we will live in Kevin Costner's waterworld and the remaining humands will be mutant swimmers and dry land will become a myth. I'm sorry future sweedish childrens. I ruined your childhoods.

I think it's pretty arrogant to say that we as tiny, insignificant humans could substantially influence global climate one way or another. How often do you fret about the implications brought on by the activity of ants and other such insects?

Solar activity is far more likely to cause climate change here on Earth than we are, and they are predicting a grand solar minimum very soon. So we could all be in for much colder temperatures (Ice Age-like) that could be in place for a good chunk of the rest of our lives.

Nobody really knows shit though. Are there cleaner and healthier, eco-friendly ways we could be doing things? Fuck yes. Is all life on Earth going to come to a screeching halt if we don't implement these changes in the next 10, 20, 30, 40, etc.. years? No chance.
