Every three weeks we have to make the trip out of town for my treatments. We could get it local, but the hospital we go to, Duke, is considered the best in the state and mom insists.

So, we often travel in the dead of morning, roughly around 4:30 or 5 to get there for the sessions. Sometimes, we're there from dark to dark, just because chemotherapy takes several hours and there's so many people getting their treatments there, too. Not to mention labs, oncologist visitations, etc.

I dunno why I didn't do this earlier, but I've started buying music to put on my phone for the trip there and back. Just tonight, I decided to put Sunn O)))'s "The Sinking Belle" on there. I really wanted the White Sheep version, but it's not on amazon for downloading, unfortunately.

Anybody got any suggestions for stuff to put on my phone to listen to?

I guess I'll throw some different stuff out there. Pelican, Cabaret Voltaire, Ministry, Goldmund, Jackson C. Frank. Iunno...hope that helps.

Thanks. Eh, what I'm really mostly looking for is maybe instrumental stuff. That's why I put Sinking Belle on there, even though the only version available is the one with the vocal track. Post-rock and post-metal are pretty good recs, because they're usually instrumental, but Goldmund is great too because it's almost entirely piano.

Also since you mentioned instrumental it's not quite fitting but other types of instrumental I enjoy and maybe you will in some way as well unless you dislike prog metal ish stuff then please disregard

Lastly, on a way off base novelty but this reminded me of when I used to be pretty into synthy electronic stuff. Dont worry it's not at all dubstep or that it's very... mellow and the later half of it reminds me of like a soundtrack that could be used in a post apocalyptic setting. Its like space disco or something
