Joaquin Phoenix did a phenomenal job. He really played a great "Joker" character. Movie could have been better without the Batman universe beats imo. Also the message was kinda weird at the end. Capitalism sucks and the Gotham health care sucks, the regular people are fucking fed up and Joker is painted as a sort of warrior for the people fighting for change yet it was just chaos. If that all even happened. The movie didn't benefit from the unreliable perspective imo, especially with parts of his delusions being plainly explained while big chunks weren't. Otherwise enjoyable film.

Side note, had a cop patrolling the theater at times and his walkie was going off too so that was pretty distracting.
