aren't all Wizards male? Wizards are not humans who know magic. they are their own race. in the bible all angels are male. and I think Wizards in Lord of the Rings are based on that

Later artwork typically depicts them as effeminate humans, not necessarily biologically male by our understanding, but the names do suggest a male gender.
