Only two where I was driving, one was my fault and one was not. Another two more as a passenger that I can recall off the top of my head.

just one, in around 2007. three-car collision on the highway, our car and another one flipped into the ditch, both completely totaled. miraculously no one was seriously injured, i was taken to hospital for fear of a concussion and i was very sore for a while. took a long time for me to get back into a car after that though

2 accidents.

The first one was because a guy driving towards me on a two-way road....suddenly decided to pull out in front of me to make a left hand turn. I had to slam my breaks on, turn to the side, and he hit the left front part of my car. I wasn't hurt at all. I was pissed. His airbag deployed because he hit my car head-on. His airbag scratched his forehead when it deployed and made him bleed (which made me happy).

He was apparently a really shitty driver and had a huge record. Insurance paid for everything. He admitted to the police that he pulled out in front of me. Said he couldn't see me because the "sun was in my eyes".

The second accident I was actually on foot. I got hit by a truck.

I was walking on the side of the road in a residential neighborhood, and it was the kind of area with no sidewalks. But there was a dirty/gravel shoulder of the road, and I was walking in that. I had a bright red hoodie on.

I was walking, just minding my own business...and then I heard a car behind me honk its horn. I assumed it was just someone waving to someone in one of the nearby houses. And then I was in the air.

Like, time just fucking stopped. It was the trippiest thing. I've seen it portrayed in movies, but I didn't know it happened for real.

I was in the air, and then I landed on the shoulder of the road. I put my hand and forearm out. EMT's had to use tweezers to pull rocks out of my palm, forearm, and elbow.

As soon as I landed I rolled to the right because I had plenty of time (during slow-motion) to know I was hit by a vehicle, and if I didn't roll as soon as I could, there was a good chance the vehicle would drive over me, which would be bad.

Good thing I rolled to the right.

A 2015 Chevy Silverado hauling Christmas trees just kept on driving. Woulda ran right over me.

He was going about 25 mph, which isn't fast......but it also is. Especially when you are hit by that shit from behind.

I felt zero pain at this point.

I learned so much about the human body that day. We have the ability to slow down time, and we can also make ourselves temporarily immune to ALL pain thanks to adrenaline.

I stood up, kinda looked myself over, was amazed nothing was broken. Saw the gravel and stuff in my arm, saw blood, felt nothing. My left shoe had come off somehow, but I saw that the foot itself was still attached.

I stood up and got a good look at the fucker who just hit me. Easily identifiable. Big truck hauling Christmas trees. I saw him slowdown, and saw the silohuette of his head look up at his rearview mirror, verify I had stood up, and then he sped off.

Two cars that were behind him, and one car that was coming the other way pulled over and ran out to see if I was okay.

I shouted to this poor lady who was running up to me, "TELL ME YOU SAW THAT SHIT!!!!!"

And she was like, "Yes, that guy just hit you! Are you okay! Oh my god oh my god!"

One other person was calling 911.

Dude, the EMT got there in literally 3 minutes. I couldn't believe how fast they got there.

I kept looking my body over, thinking something was broken and didn't know it yet. But I was fine. Cut on my ankle (that lost the shoe somehow), and arm damage.

Cops came, I gave a statement. They caught the guy 3 miles down the road trying to get onto the highway. They identified his truck by the HUGE DENT IN THE FRONT OF IT and he was hauling Christmas trees.

He ended up being a 75 year old dude. Said he "didn't see me". Which was bullshit, because he honked at me, but hit me anyway. He was being a dick.

I got $5000 from his insurance.

I was lucky as hell. The next morning I couldn't move. I hurt all over. Had a bruised elbow, but nothing broken. I'm pretty sure I'm the terminator.

None at-fault. Been in two where I got rear-ended under almost identical circumstances (shitty winter weather, someone approaching the light too fast, didn't realize there was black ice and slid into me), and had two close calls (in the first a drunk driver on the highway coming the opposite way drifted across the centreline, clipped the car two cars in front of me, which then spun and took out the car directly in front of me, which then also spun and nearly hit me, but drifted into the ditch instead - it's kind of a miracle there were no serious injuries that came out of it, though one guy looked like he had whiplash; in the second, also in shitty winter weather, some guy missed his turnoff and hit the brakes right in the middle of the road to try and dodge traffic so he could suddenly veer over - I was behind him and I had to lock up my brakes to try and avoid hitting him and it's a fucking miracle I didn't, as I managed to stop less than a centimetre off his back bumper).

3 I think, 1 my fault

not my fault: guy couldn't stop fast enough on slushy roads when a pedestrian walked in front of traffic, and used my car to slow down

not my fault: pickup truck changed lanes into me. no idea what the hell he was thinking. my car is already beat up so I didn't care, but put a nice blue scratch on his shiny white truck. it was the middle of the freeway so we both just kept going our separate ways.

my fault: as far as I know my rear signal bulb exploded. I ended up focusing on it way too much, thinking the guy behind me had hit me. I spent so much time trying to figure out what the hell happened that when I came-to and realized that I had spent way too much time doing that, I immediately turned left without thinking or having an actual awareness of what was around me; unfortunately the left-turn signal had already expired and I drove right into on-coming traffic. may have been partly caused by caffiene withdrawl (I was about to get a coffee at tim horton's.) end result was a relatively slow head-on collision, corner to corner. I just had to straighten the corner and replace the headlight/signal assembly.

As a passenger, 1.

Me and my sister were in the back seat of the family's 1980 Honda Civic, Mom was driving Dad to an aerobics class at the Great Lakes Naval Training Center. We were stopped at a stop sign and were rear-ended by some lady in a hurry. No real damage to the car, but Mom really gave that other driver a piece of her mind.

As a driver, 3.

First one - I was in the left turn lane and got a green turn arrow. I started my turn, while at the same time, someone coming the opposite direction did a right turn on red (came to a complete stop first) and had to swing wide because he was pulling a trailer behind his van. He swung into the lane I was turning in and hit my car on the passenger side, near the brake light assembly (which was knocked out of its socket in the process). We pulled into a nearby parking lot, called the cops, and I was able to provide what the officer wanted (driver's license, registration, proof of insurance).

Second one - I was driving home from work and the road was wet from a recent bit of rain. I was following another vehicle a bit too close when said vehicle hit their brakes. I rear-ended that vehicle when I hit the brakes, but the slickness of the road made a complete stop unlikely. I got a ticket for following too closely.

Third one - I was driving home from work a few months ago and had exited I-295 to get onto a road that led to home. I was behind another vehicle and mistakenly thought that driver had merged into traffic. I wasn't keeping my eyes front (I was watching my blind spot) when I hit that vehicle. We exchanged insurance info and I had to send in an accident report.

Once. My foot missed my brake and by the time I could come to a complete stop I had some dudes truck hitch in my car. No damage to his car but my hood and bumper had a new hole in it. No accident report or anything since the guy was relatively cool.

One as a passenger. We were hit by a school bus. No injuries and minor damage on the car

Two accidents as a driver. Rear ended by an elderly couple at a stop light. Minor dent on my fender but their was barely driveable. My jeep was high enough off the ground that they partially went under my car

Other time, my brakes failed coming down a steep hill. Flipped my car, went airborne, and hit a tree about 8' off the ground at 60+ mph. Car spun around and hit another car, totaling it. Damaged a 3rd car with pieces of a brick well I inadvertently hit in someone's yard.

Front driver side tire was ripped off, as was the trunk partially. They found pieces of my engine 50 yards down the road. EMTs arrived and thought there were no survivors until they saw me climb out the passenger window.

I was lucky to survive and lucky my injuries weren't worse. Concussion (from the airbag), 3 broke ribs, some internal bleeding and cuts/bruises. No tickets were issued.

Define accident?

I've had one proper "crash" where I took out a reflector pole and put it through the windshield.

I've had someone drive into my parked car.

I've hit two kangaroos, one causing significant damage, another just grazing the door.

I've run over a bunch of smaller animals like birds and rabbits.

I've gotten bogged on a muddy road and needed to be winched out.

So... that many.

No thankfully. My wife was going to ride with me, but started feeling ill, so she stayed home.

If she had, her legs would have been broken (the glove box was pushed up against the passenger seat) and she would have had facial injuries from the windshield. It was almost touching my face in the end, but it was hanging over where she would have been sitting
