I just saw some motherfucking thing crawling on my kitchen floor. It was dark and I didn't get a good look at it but I'm pretty sure it was a house centipede. I really do not like those things and I've been so put off by them in the past that I would have done anything to kill them, but this year I've tried to have a live and let live attitude about them. I snapped at this one and told it I didn't want to fucking see it and it needed to stay hidden, but I did not spray anything or otherwise try to kill it. I'm willing to coexist if they can stay out of sight... I know they aren't harmful and they eat other pests and generally keep out of sight when they can, so I want to give them a chance... I just hate that they are so fucking eldritch horror looking >_<. I'm making progress though. I'm not nearly as triggered when I see them as I used to be, and it's usually months or longer in between sightings so it's not like I have an infestation. I wouldn't tolerate that lol. /random-rant

I don't bother spiders unless their real estate is inconvenient. Took a little while to get used to but don't bat an eye anymore.

In fact the centipede(s) probably eat the spiders even though I have no beef with either. Had some pretty big bathroom spiders too. I just let them be unless they get in my way. In the shower? Gotta say, yeah, spiders are one thing, but I'd probably go all Mac from Predator on a centipede.

I tolerate spiders that don't look like hellspawn, since we share a common enemy in mosquitos. I also don't go out of my way to kill house centipedes because they're harmless.

As said in post #5 though, they are harmless and even technically beneficial (they eat other bugs and don't fuck anything up). It is a major mental barrier to get over in order to be okay with them being around but I'm slowly getting there. This is the 2nd encounter within a few months where I've just shrugged it off instead of getting out the wasp killer spray and going nuts with it, and I wasn't even really on the fence this time.
