The iPhone had more than 4 pixels when it came out in 2007

I had the Google Pixel 2 for 2 years and I'm planning to buy the OnePlus 7T tomorrow. Other than the camera, it excels at everything else above the Pixel 4 and at a much more affordable price point. The most shitty thing about the 4 is that they're touting the 90hz screen but the base 4 is only 2700mah battery which is horrid so you pretty much have to shell extra for the 4XL

The funny thing is that the Google pixel subreddit is going crazy right now. Lots of people calling the 4 out for how expensive it is for it's mediocrity and a bunch of other people going 'omg I'm quitting this sub it's so toxic' lol. I'm glad I'm not a victim of brand loyalty

Yeah that's pretty worthless. If you're not gonna allow memory cards at least have 128 GB internal storage

Their keynote was embarrassing. It looks like a cheap knock off of the new iPhone. The radar feature is a disaster. Priced terribly.

How does a company as large as Google make such easily avoidable mistakes.

No 4K60
No HDR recording
No 1080p240 fps slow motion
Only 1080p on front camera (flagships now have 4K on both front and rear)

The ultrawide camera is a glaring omission. It's by far more useful than a telephoto lens.

I remember the Pixel 2 had major screen problems with burn in and stuff when it came out, did they atleast fix that with the 3 and 4?

It's usually their still photos they're known for.

Even then, they're still lacking. The Pixel 4 is just now getting a telephoto lens and no ultrawide. In late 2019, the differences in photo quality among the flagships is academic. Night Sight was a big thing with the Pixel 3, but other OEMs have now responded with their own solutions which are as good if not better. What the Pixel may gain in quality, it loses in sheer versatility.

I'm just wondering what the big deal about the Pixel is nowadays.
