Your local pharmacy probably has those specials under their common and generic blood pressure meds. Oftentimes, the price is cheaper than what it would be under your own insurance.

I know you're a doctor so I'm sure you already know this, but it's worth taking into account your deductible on some plans. No point in spending less with GoodRx if you end up hitting your deductible in other ways.

unless you have a blue cross HMO, generally a prescription only deductible isn't very high (if any)

It's both a diuretic and a blood pressure medication. It's in the thiazide class of BP meds.

Oh, and fuck goodrx. It's a great tool for people who don't have insurance and for the situations where people need stuff insurance companies won't cover because it's non-formulary or they lost something. But baby boomers, of course, fucking ruin it. $3 copay on $125: Can you check goodrx? But I have this printout that says $2.96 for a different drug, different quantity, for last year! You people always rip me off!

No, that's not true. The thiazides work by inhibiting parts of the distal loop of henle, which does cause diuresis, but actually causes blood pressure decrease by indirectly impacting the sodium retention pathway.

In fact, at blood pressure dosing, a lot of people don't notice any diuresis. Thiazides really only cause diuresis at dosing higher than that which is used for blood pressures.
