Hes got some real cojones and not in a good way.

A Panama man shocked medical professionals after he showed up at the hospital with testicles as large as soccer balls. Their massive size was the result of a rare condition that required doctors to perform emergency surgery to relieve him of his burden.

The 43-year-old unnamed man had been transported to the hospital with a fever and two gaping gashes in his sport sack-sized scrotum, which were leaking putrid pus. Not much was known about the patients medical history because he hadnt seen a doctor in 30 years, according to an abstract published in the medical journal Urology Case Reports.

During that time, his genitals had swelled to a behemoth 7 pounds and measured a foot around larger than a regulation basketball. They became so cumbersome that the unfortunate souls scrotum dropped to the floor, and prevented him from moving without the aid of a walker, according to the study.

Even worse, his own mother was forced to help him perform the most basic tasks.

Doctors diagnosed the man with Fourniers gangrene, a rare and life threatening bacterial infection that attacks both male and female genitalia. Often caused by poor hygiene and sanitation, the ailment is particularly prevalent among elderly men living in developing countries, according to a 2012 paper on the infection.

The patients condition was complicated by a grade 4 lymphedema (swelling) of his groin and right leg, a designation usually reserved for sufferers of elephantiasis a mosquito-borne disease that causes the afflicteds legs and genitals to swell. A CT scan further revealed a mammoth hernia in the groin, a 12.8-centimeter gas pocket under the skin and a veritable reservoir of urine that caused his kidney to balloon up.

Oh, and his flesh was decaying.

Doctors were forced to cut his penis lengthwise to insert a catheter after attempts to insert it into his urethra were thwarted by his engorged gonads.

The abstract reports that after several days of intravenous antibiotics his wound appeared to be improving but dressing changes and a wound vacuum were too painful. So doctors decided to effectively give him scrotal plastic surgery to repair his damaged nether-regions.

The patient was discharged two days later to a rehab facility. And when doctors last saw him four weeks after the operation, he was healing well with satisfactory functional and cosmetic outcomes.

Tell you what, I'm seeing the doctor a lot sooner if I'm this guy. I remember reading about Lance Armstrong and his bout with testicular cancer. They said his nuts got the size of grapefruits before he saw a doctor. You just can't let your body - especially your gonads go through radical changes without seeing a doctor. Damn.
