That Clippers bench is ridiculous. Their starting 5 is one of the best in the league regardless once George is healthy, but the bench really sets them apart from the Lakers and other elite teams. They have to be the favorites imo

depth is considerably less important in the playoffs. the clips should end with a better seed but that doesn't mean they'll beat the lakers.

But as a caveat to that, it depends how healthy you remain. Having depth allows you to put less stress on players over the season and less of a drop off if someone is injured for the playoffs
If AD or Lebron goes down for an extended period the Lakers are fucked. If Kawhi or George miss time for the Clippers, it's less of an issue. And theoretically Clippers should have better load management through the season. We saw how good Kawhi was last season in the playoffs ... Copied to Clipboard!

it's true that depth can make stars less injury-prone come playoff-time. but assuming the lakers do get there healthy, it doesn't matter if they're 8th seed or 2nd seed - they'll be at least the 2nd best team in the west
