if they make $150,000/year and up

do people not manage their money right?

divide that yearly salary by 12 months. they get around $12,000/month

how can they not afford life here?

even if they have kids, thats plenty of money to survive

it's probably not the people making 150,000 and up that are having financial difficulty unless they're in over their heads

Or Boston especially if it's medical tech. NYC as well I would imagine. Plus isn't Austin Texas becoming big in tech now or something?

NYC is the place to be for finance. Not tech.

How much does it cost to live in San Francisco, on average?

ETA: First three links from my search, if anyone's interested:

https://smartasset.com/mortgage/what-is-the-cost-of-living-in-san-francisco
https://www.numbeo.com/cost-of-living/in/San-Francisco
https://www.salary.com/research/cost-of-living/san-francisco-ca

I'm not going to comb through all this just yet, but it seems San Francisco has a pretty high cost of living. Also, San Francisco average salary:

https://www.payscale.com/research/US/Location=San-Francisco-CA/Salary
https://smartasset.com/retirement/average-salary-in-san-francisco
https://www.salarylist.com/city/San-Francisco-CA-Salary.htm
