looking to get my first phone, i never needed one till now, and i'm looking for something cheap. anyways, i'm probably gonna go with a galaxy series, from verizon prepaid. any thoughts or advice would be appreciated

I'd advise an older cheaper iPhone in an apple store tbh. Most of them have really helpful staff that will show you how to use stuff.
While android phones are cheaper, iPhones are far easier for new people I think. Especially since if it works on one phone it most likely will work on another so long as it's on the same version of software.
Android have the makers customize stuff. A Samsung phone will be different to a Sony one for example
