Like, I put in a hex code and it gives me a brand and color of paint to buy that is that color or at least very close.

I don't need huge amounts, I need to paint some crafty shit. Anyone know anything like that?

By hex code do you mean the code used to create a color on your screen? I don't know if Lowe's does that. But they will match a sample if you have something printed out in the color you want. The Home Depot will do the same.

I don't need these paints in super duper high quantities though. and I would prefer some kind of paint that isn't used for houses, like a latex paint. Acrylic or enamel paints would be preferable. Do hardware stores sell paint like that in small amounts with custom colors?

Any paint store will try to match any color you want. You need an actual sample though as usually what they do is compare visually the sample vs their paint and add other color paint as needed to match your sample.

I have never heard of a place using the hex code to actually make the paint. It would be awesome if such place existed.

Trying to match a hexcode will never work out right. It's additive color, while pigments are subtractive.

Doubtful. The color spaces simply don't work that way.

On your computer screen, you're mixing red, green and blue. Red and green make yellow. In paint, you're mixing red, yellow, blue, black and white. Red and blue make purple.

Interesting. So would they be able to mix paints for me in smaller quantities in enamel or acrylic paint?

Some googling led me to this website where you put in the hex code and it tries to match with commercially available paint colors:
