It's the first mainline Pokemon game on a console. It should be the biggest and best(in some aspects) game in the series, but Gamefreak clearly doesn't give a shit anymore. It's just stupid that not all Pokemon are included, since they're literally just porting old Pokemon over from Sun and Moon.

Also, Sun and Moon were terrible, so I don't have high hopes for Sword and Shield.

I cancelled my preorder a few months ago. I don't even really want to buy a used copy. The game looks pretty meh.

I was put off by the 'not every pokemon will be included' announcement too but that's not the only reason I won't buy sword/shield. My main concern is that the switch doesn't have enough memory space to handle the download, since sword/shield's download is I believe 300 and some megabytes of memory space to start. I don't want to have a game system where I can only play one game and, if that game crashes, I've lost all the pokemon that I've caught, etc. If past experience is any guide, Pokemon Home won't be available until months after sword/shield is released which isn't necessarily a good thing either since the switch's memory capacity is so limited. Also the switch isn't backwards compatible which means that I can't play earlier pokemon games (which I enjoy doing from time to time). Sony's PS4 and Xbox One can play older games but not the switch, made by the people who made a name for themselves by having game systems that can play the older games (3DS, 3DSXL, DSi, DS, etc.).

There is always going to be that guy who blazes through the story then sells the game back right away.

The issue is there are probably a lot of people like you who don't want to support the game (I assume) but still want to play it, so there will be a lot of competition to get these used copies.

I never pre-ordered but this is basically how I feel.

I don't really feel like playing the game at all based on what I've seen.

I thought Sun/Moon was disappointing, if this is just going to be more of that, there is nothing to look forward to in Sw/Sh.

or, you can just buy a microsd card for like $20 and have more than enough room

or, you can just buy it physically.
