IShall_Run_Amok 10/26/19 1:14:08 AM #15:	One guy I know, in the midst of bitching about The Last Jedi, likes to point out that Rian Johnson may have directed Ozymandius, the best reviewed episode of the show by all, but he didn't write it, and that he directed one of the worst episodes of Breaking Bad (The Fly) so he can't take credit for Ozymandius. But The Fly wasn't written by him, either - it was written by the same lady who wrote Ozymandius, and the other acclaimed episode he directed, Fifty-One, was written by someone else who also helped to write The Fly. I've never seen the show, but I looked into this dufus's argument and immediately realized he didn't do any research when he made it, and might never have even watched the show either because he clearly doesn't give a fuck. Anyway, I had a really good laugh, sorry for the anecdote. So, what I know of the episode and its reception, it sounds like a stand alone episode in the tradition of the Monster of the Week episodes of The X-Files, here suddenly interrupting the larger arc of the story, only for this show the arc is good and the reason people watch the show. I imagine people who dislike the episode might have been the sorts who didn't or wouldn't watch The X Files because the main story gets really lame at times, and the whole thing is really disappointing, while the people who like it jive more with episodic television and don't mind the interruption, and can find meaning therein.
