I have my own domain. I think it gives me a leg up on other techs who are using gmail or hotmail and here I am running my own server.

I guess Outlook, but why is that a bundled option? Surely it's a common enough choice these days... just wiki'd it, geez
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Outlook.com

Guess I had left Hotmail for Yahoo then gmail long enough ago that I apparently missed some rebranding. Granted, I know people who *still* have the msn domain so I thought it was a still active, outdated thing.

At any rate, I still use my gmail, but I don't check it as regularly. And then my work email is just for work so, even though I get more emails on it, it's kinda not my go-to.

How unfortunate. Between the heavy spam and having to change my password 20 times a year, I got fed up and deleted my Yahoo accounts years ago. They've been a hot mess since they changed the logo from red to purple, and they don't seem to care about changing.

In what ways? I can't think of any reason to use Yahoo over Google.

Google still has a 15GB limit on it's mailbox vs Yahoo which got rid of size limits years ago. That is the big thing for me since my Yahoo mailbox is probably at least a TB at this point.

You could also argue being able to move mail items out of your mailbox vs. needing to label then archive them is a much cleaner way to organize your mail.

That said, my Google is still my primary and my Yahoo is just my public e-mail that the entire internet knows and spams me at.

Size hasn't been an issue for me (yet), but I can see how it would affect other people. To be honest I wasn't even aware Yahoo has no limited storage.

It definitely has a 15GB limit in place, in fact, that 15GB limit is shared across your mail, drive and Google Photos.

Here, have a look at this. I quoted the part that is relevant to this discussion.

https://www.theverge.com/2019/3/19/18271015/google-drive-photos-storage-space-how-to-get-more

By default, Google gives you 15GB of space to use for everything associated with your account. (If you have a paid G Suite account, your limits likely higher.) That includes content connected to Gmail, Google Drive, and Google Photos (if youre saving your photos at full resolution). Needless to say, data adds up fast.

Yahoo generates a new password for my account every time someone tries to log into it, can't get much more secure then that.
