26 y/o Florida Cosplay "Model" if you want to call her that, waited 4 HOURS to call for help after she viciously STABBED her boyfriend to death and told him to "f***ing die!!" as they argued!!

Heifer, Melissa Rose Turner was charged with 2nd degree murder after 25 y/o Matthew Trussler was found dead at their home..

She told dispatcher that she found his "cold, blood stained body" on the porch and didn't know what happened

Her arrest revealed something different however as she told detectives that "things escalated" during a fight and waited hours before calling police..

She said "If it was an accident, then i would have called 911 and not just let him die"

She said she works as a cosplay model and called 911 at 8:45am as police found abrasians on his armand chest. She also said he came home wasted and woke her up when she was sleeping and she lost her mind about it and had a KNIFE in her hand and cut her had when he tried to take it

However, audio from a neighbor's surveillance system captured the audio of their argument and a woman's voice can be heard yelling "You stay down"

Glass was heard shattering and a female voice was heard saying "So f***ing die!. I hate you" and banging and slapping sounds were then heard..a couple minutes later she yells "No, What did i do??"

The defensive wound on Trussler's right arm and large wound in his back is consistent with the stabs

She is held on 2nd degree murder as dailymail reveales her occupation is listed as "self employed" for "modeling/cosplay"

Cosplay or costume play involves a person dressing up and pretending to be a fictional player from sci movies to comics and animes

Trussler's friends from Massachusetts describe him as a fun loving and hard working guy who didn't deserve this

Have you ever attended a Cosplay event before?

2nd degree murder she killed the guy in cold blood.

How the fuck is that 2nd degree? Pretty sure if you straight up kill someone during an argument intentionally with a knife that is 1st degree.

I don't know.... I feel like intentionally not calling 911 for hours to make sure he was dead before they could provide help is an extra layer of evil on top of the murder.

Nothing in the story makes it sound premeditated, which is the main difference between 1st and 2nd degree murder as I understand it.

Well, nobody deserves to be murdered. That's kind of a given.

lolwut? She killed him in the heat of an argument, that's literally the opposite of cold blood. And the "No, What did i do??" clearly denotes remorse, which *also* isn't associated with a cold-blooded murder.

As for murder 1 vs murder 2, the legal standard can presumably vary state to state so I have no opinion on that part of it.

Or, you know, a layer of panic because she knew she was going to be in a lot of trouble. It's not like she sat there so she could watch him die.

So her not calling and that long delay possibly turning a severe injury into a fatal one because she didn't want to get in trouble for her own actions is somehow supposed to make me sympathize with her?

I...actually expect this level of shit posting from you at this point. Wanted to express my shock you could make that argument, but...I'd be lying.

Under the Florida Criminal Code (and most, if not all, state criminal codes), first degree murder requires premeditation. Second degree murder requires only that the action clearly demonstrates a "depraved mind regardless of human life".

You wrongly attributed it to purely malicious reasons when more plausible, rational ones existed. And you ask whether you should sympathize with her, but it's really more a matter of you being unable to emphasize with people. People very often don't think or act rationally when in these situations. And your frequent lack of empathy generally goes a long way in explaining your support for draconian criminal justice.

This. 2nd degree murder is a heat of the moment or crime of passion killing.
What she did is exactly 2nd degree murder.
Maybe you mistook 2nd degree murder for manslaughter, which is an accidental killing.
