(Going to try to not have spoilers in here, but tagged it anyways cause something small might slip)

I like it.

Maybe even love it.

I got some thoughts though.

1. Loading on PS4 Pro is a tad ridiculous. Hope it's better on PC. This shit takes longer to load than Oblivion did on 360 back in the day. Or it feels like it at least. I'm hoping this is just me being used to playing Skyrim/New Vegas on my PC and used to the fast loading on there, but sometimes these load times feel like an eternity. Kind of wish I had been able to get this on PC now.

2. Armor variety kind of sucks. I've ran across very few set of clothes on NPC's, as well as makeshift armor that outlaws/murauders wear that looks like Borderlands stuff. There only appears to be a standard light, medium and heavy set of armor you can buy that just has color variations based on the corporate entity controlling the vendor. I like the look of the armor enough, but it feels weird wearing the same armor as all corporate entities in the game. There are a lot of different helmets though.

3. The companions are kind of iffy. I don't hate them, but I don't love them either. They haven't done a whole lot on the ship, which I'm surprised cause a review I read said that they're interactions put Mass Effect 2 to shame but so far they've recycled through like 3 scenarios over and over. (one of which doesn't even make sense, as it has the last companion you can acquired trying to teach the first you acquire how to shoot a gun even though they had been shooting guns with me for well over 10 hours at this point)

4. Only one weird glitch so far, which wasn't game breaking it just added an item to my crew quarters that seemed to think I made a completely different decision than I did when inspected. So overall A+ on that front considering it's Obsidian.

I'm either at the halfway point or near the endgame, I'm not really sure. Close to the level cap, but the story is starting to feel like how New Vegas felt when you met Mr. House. Got a lot of different factions trying to win me over and stuff. I'm really liking the actual gameplay a lot and having a lot of fun.

It's an RPG right? Is there choice or just the illusion of choice?

I mean it's only my first playthrough, so I can't be too sure right now. One choice has locked me out of, what i assume is, a best case scenario for a planet. This is also the choice that caused the glitch I was talking about. (it basically tells me that there was a choice that wasn't even presented to me, although it wasn't like a secret or wasn't foreshadowed I just think that because of the way I went after being denied the best case scenario it wouldn't have come up because it was based on a faction I didn't choose)

Other than that I can't be too sure.
