I like: Tulsi Gabbard, Andrew Yang, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, and Pete...B... the best. Corey Booker and that old billionaire dude are also ok from what I've seen thus far.

Would be fine w/ any of them winning the nomination.
And honestly literally everyone who's been on that Democratic debate stage so far I would vote for over Donald Trump.

Yang is a lousy candidate. He has the same lack of experience and policy knowledge that Trump has, in addition to some stupidly far-left policy plans. The moment he brought up UBI automatically disqualified him. Now he's literally giving money away and he can't make it into the top 5.

Otherwise I had been a Booker fan for years (especially after seeing Street Fight) and assumed he'd be president someday, but he's been so hollow on the debate stage which belies that he's more the product of self-promotion and media hype than anything. Right now, I don't strongly favor any of the candidates. Tulsi Gabbard scored some points last debate, Mayor Pete has occasionally been alright on some things (although the guy seems he's going to be yet another hawk, which I dislike), Biden is the lesser of several evils, and I kinda like Klobuchar's tough gal persona.

The candidates who I strongly oppose are Sanders (who has no business doing this -- he's spent almost his entire life in politics yet his foreign policy knowledge is as weak as Trump's and shouldn't be running as a Democrat at all), Yang (UBI), Harris (so many reasons), Warren (anti-business, plus she's pushing to change capital gains taxes which would fuck over people saving for retirement), and Beto OR (laughable policies plus gun stances). Oh, and John Steyer seems like an idiot.

Going to be honest, I'm also starting to lean towards Gabbard after that Syria discussion where she was the only candidate to strongly decry America's never-ending wars (iirc, I think even Bernie said a few words in support of our efforts in Syria which seemed out of character)

Bernie has no potential for beating Trump. Although he can energize a crowd, he's absurdly fringe and only plays well to younger demographics who are already going to vote Democrat. At least Warren has some broader buy-in.

I'm voting for Reese Witherspoon, because I like her and I want a woman president.

I figure she is more qualified then our current president since she actually played a lawyer in a movie once, and she had some election experience in a movie as well (she was a stalker I think but whatever).

Sadly her name doesn't show up as an option, but I'll just write it in.

What do you mean by "record"? Voting record? It's been pretty good.
I admit I did falter a lot in supporting her after the last debate where she leaned into the "anti-war" position a little too far, to the point of almost parody.
I don't want us getting into new wars, but if just having 50 dudes chill with the Kurds was keeping all hell from breaking loose, then that was a worthwhile use of the troops and her going crazy over it was...off-putting.

His health issues this year would also play a significant role, because Americans in general have tended to be extremely wary of voting for anyone we think might die in office ever since Wilson or so. There's a very real fear that anyone who goes into office less than healthy will suffer from the high stress levels of the job and either drop dead, stroke out, or just do a piss-poor job.

Entire campaigns have been torpedoed in the past by rumors of heart problems or similar. It's part of why candidates tend to be hesitant to release health records (and why people demand it out of them).

As much as people like to think Bernie COULD win (especially his more rabid supporters), there's more than enough ammunition to use against him in almost any election that would at best discourage a lot of voters from voting at all, or outright encourage them to vote for Trump (even if they're already somewhat biased against Trump and actively looking for a worthwhile alternative).

The Democrats have lost elections in the past by assuming it was a slam-dunk and fielding a candidate voters simply don't want, because they get cocky and feel like there's no way they can lose no matter who they run. If they do that again this time, then we should all start getting used to the idea of Trump's second term now.

- The stuff w/ impeachment and especially her comments defending Assange disturb me as well, I should have mentioned, and yeah I have no defense for that stuff. Like I said, her last debate in particular was unnerving, like she is shifting gears for a Fox News anchor spot or something.
- Her attacking and resigning from DNC was justified and I first grew to like her for that. They were unfairly favoring Hillary and she threw away a fast rise to the top to make a stand.
- Where and when did she "tout" her past support for gay conversion therapy? She was brought up in a very religious and conservative household and initially supported those, but realized they were wrong when she served overseas and saw the true horrors of theocracy and religion guiding politics.
- Her meeting w/ Assad has been explained.... She's strongly anti-interventionalist and willing to talk to our enemies and attempt diplomacy. She goes further than I would, but it's not some nefarious scheme...
- Used what Project Veritas video as proof, when, and proof of what? Granted, anything from PV is lies and slander, but maybe at the time they hadn't been exposed yet? If it was the past several years then yeah, she has some explaining to do...
- I don't give a flying fuck about people throwing around the "Islamophobe" smear at her just b/c she doesn't openly support the same factions most Democrats do, if anything it's a positive for me.
- According to that image, she votes Progressive 90% of the time and 73% on "critical issues" (and that's so vague it doesn't mean much to me on its own), it seems she has an "F" mainly b/c her district is deep blue and she doesn't match it, rather than on the merits of her record alone. She's always been a moderate Democrat, so...duh? Just b/c guys like McCain are fake "mavericks" on the other side doesn't mean Dem moderates have to actually be far-left in disguise.

Just going down most of that list. Seems like some valid points and a whole lot of attempting to smear her and making big reaches.

Just cause he chooses to endorse her doesn't mean shit on its own. Could be purely strategic ("she's the most conservative Dem, so I'll back her") or even intentionally sabotaging her by putting his name w/ hers.

EDIT: Trump's support by Duke became an outrage not b/c he got said endorsement on its own, it's b/c he waffled back and forth on condemning it while making cute dog whistles to the white supremacists that he was on their side and just declining the support publicly b/c he had to.

I liked Yang until he came out against universal healthcare, the vital thing every other civilized country has. How can you be for UBI but not UH? I guess UBI would mean healthcare coverage by proxy, but still. Also I'm not sure about his foreign policy, which should be "GTFO of the middle east and cut the military budget by 3/4ths"

At this point the guy seems kind of silly. He's not polling high enough to win, seems to just exist to syphon votes from Bernie.

I'm kind of afraid of Biden dropping off as well. I feel like all his voters are going straight to Warren, the next feasible corporate candidate.

The manufacturoversy regarding his "waffling" began with the simple fact that, when asked, he had no clue who it was because most people aren't going to either remember or even know that name.

It impacts your life less than you think. Regardless of who's president, there's still a status quo that the powers that be want to maintain. No matter who you vote for, impactful ideas will be voted against in congress and in every opposing state.

People thought Trump would collapse the US yet all that's happened is some fluff on top of the standard flow. The surface looks disturbed but the undercurrent is uneffected.
