I thought it got fucked because its entire selling point was that it was a video game adaptation of a 20-year old comic book that almost no one outside of Europe had ever heard of before.

That might've had something to do with it too, but it was mostly the early 2000's mentality of everything needing to be "mature" like GTA.

BTW, WTF is up with XIII remake not being on Gamestop's or Bestbuy's website? It's like they're not even acknowledging that this game exists.
