Anyone know if local investigations are time sensitive? I spent a few hours in one location getting to know some NPCs and picked up some local investigations as a consequence.

That said, I'd really like to do the main quest at the moment. But I'm afraid these "side quests" will disappear if I don't do them now.

Soooo, help?

It's chapter based. You'll wanna do all side quests in an area you're in for the main story, as every person in the game is named and has a health bar. Some people can die between chapters

Yeah, I was gonna say, approach it by chapter and complete side stuff before advancing. It's been a bit since I played but I remember that much.

The game doesn't have as many side quests as you think. It has a good amount, but they're all quality. It's the game's strong suit, the writing and characters. Not every named person is a quest giver, only some are, but they're all connected on some way, the one feeding menu thing will show you their lines.

Yeah, the more I interrogate people the more I discover who's a shitbag, who's important, etc. It helps when deciding who/if to embrace.

You only get the "happy" ending if you never embrace anyone or a very few, I can't remember. The other ending is just the normal ending, not a bad ending. Think of it like the secret endings for kingdom hearts and stuff.

How much harder is the game if I never embrace anyone? Playing on Normal difficulty for comparison.

It's not too bad if you get the dodge mechanics down.
