I am a tattoo artist by trade and operate my own private studio. Since I no longer work in a street shop, I draw, paint and do graphic design on my own time now :)

I also work on designing my own indie games and have been working on a graphic novel in my spare time.

I have about three dozen board games in various states of development. Three more app games, though I don't have the skill to finish those quite yet, if they're even worth finishing. I have a couple craft-y ideas, one that I plan to start working on soon, and another that I've been kicking around for a while in my brain, but I've no idea if it'll work.

I design lifting programs based around Louie Simmons Conjugate Method and some Bulgarian Method lifting for lifters on gear that wanna take their pain to the next level.

I also take groups of people and teach them about Marcus Aurelius and Stoicism so they can live a more sane and less anxious life. I buy them copies of meditations, Marcus' best work.

In the past I've also outlined curriculums for psychologists on their way to do clinical work in prisons so they can learn and understand how criminals work versus average people in an average therapy setting. This is from using my CJ/Psychology background and from some years working inside a police dept.

I write short stories. and I write poems for girls I like because it's free and I don't have to spend money on gifts. Lol

i'm outlining and worldbuilding for a high fantasy/arcanepunk book series, planned to be a trilogy. been working on it for awhile now. it's basically a redraft of some earlier stuff i've started writing but never finished, and the skeleton of the setting and narrative are things that have been brewing in my mind for most of my adult life and that i've attempted drafts of several times. only in the last few years have i really been making an effort at doing a complete outline and all of the lore and history and worldbuilding that i'll need before i attempt another draft in earnest.

i'm also making a housemod for Morrowind that is a large Hlaalu style manor that is inspired by Victorian era great house. It's got a parlor, a huge dining hall, a minstrel's gallery overlooking both, kitchens and cellars, servant quarters, display halls, library, forging and alchemy workshop, solar, master bedroom, patios, private sauna and hot tub, privies, a guard tower, a side yard with a tool shed, a guar pen and stables, and an outer wall. gonna put it in the little valley near Balmora that's down the road and right across the rope bridge.

oh by the way, forgot to bring up Scrivner if you haven't heard about it already. it's pretty cool, wouldn't say it's a vital writing tool but you might find it useful.

I heard that. The ironic thing is that it's all the behind the scenes stuff that takes the most time.

For example, the audio library I was using (SDL_Mixer) for whatever reason, doesn't allow you to apply effects to music only. One specific sound, sure. The whole mix, sure. But when I decided I wanted to quiet and filter BGM for the pause menu but still have the menu sounds played normally, I ended up having to drop it and work with the much lower-level base SDL audio functionality. So I've been working on that this whole week, lol.

It actually turns out better that way because I'll have more control going forward, lol. Got some cool tricks in mind.

Thats pretty cool. I discovered the Meditations myself a few years ago and feel like it really helped me improve my perspective on life

Anyways, Im not much of an artistic person but my creative outlet is cooking. I feel like its fun to try new recipes and always enjoy sharing my work with people. (Wouldnt want to be a professional cook/chef though)

Haven't written in a while, but I'm a p decent at poetry and short stories. Started writing when my mental health problems cropped up and used that as inspiration. Got some poems published in a college magazine that I spent like 20 min writing. Wish I could write a novel but since I get inspiration in episodes I can't really do long term commitment.

Tried art but I never developed the skill early. Painted one piece I'm proud of.

I have a pretty diverse palate and like to dine adventurously so I end up cooking a lot of different stuff. Id say European style cuisine is what Ill make most frequently. Anyways, for this week Ive made chicken curry finger sandwiches for my offices Halloween potluck, and wanted to try making Chicken Marengo this weekend (been watching the anime series Monster and this was mentioned so feel inspired to give it a go)

Write and perform my own stand up comedy material as a fun hobby. Always wanted to do it when I was younger but was too shy back then to consider stepping up on stage. Eventually my wife persuaded me to try it and I've never looked back!

Have co-written screenplays and teleplays as well in terms of bigger writing projects.

I do it because I get bored easily talking to people and just pretend they're doing something else which leads me to spend most of my time around people fantasizin about what ifs
so I tend to note it all down and it develops over time

The crazy thing about creating is how much it teaches you.

One of the first videos I watched to learn about game design was about what it takes to be a game designer, and one thing on the list was to be an expert on literally everything. Which struck me as weird, but it has really proven to be true. Things I've studied in the process include:

Game design (duh)
Music theory
Pixel art
Vector art (I didn't even know this was a thing)
Cryptography
Cinematography
FFIs (didn't know this was a thing either)
Preprocessor directives
Narrative structures
Hebrew and Japanese poetry (seriously)

You never realize how much structure there is to everything of quality. I've recently started writing some of the music, which I've written music before, but where it used to be a frustrating loop of writing down a few bars that sound cool then not knowing where to go from there, writing the next phrase seven or eight times and hating it every time, then realizing I accidentally copied a melody I heard once a long time ago and having to throw the whole thing out, it's become like a fun puzzle. I want it to feel this certain way, so let's use this mode and that sort of intonation, syncopating here. The motif needs to end on such and such interval so when I transpose it to match the new chord, it resolves the phrase, etc etc.

And everything is that way. Not just the music. How many elements do I need for my element system? How do they interact? What does this tell us about the overall meaning of the story? If I explore the subplots in this order, I have rising drama, but if I explore them in this order, I have descending tone. Etc etc.

I guess if I had to summarize everything I've learned, it would be try to tell your entire story in every piece. The screenplay of Terminator was awesome about this. There were single camera shots that gave you so much information that you could have started watching the film right there and been up to speed, only been missing details like characters' names. Cid's theme in FF7 is another great example. You can deduce his background, his internal struggle and its resolution just by listening to it.
