One of the biggest conservative defenses of Trump being accused of quit quo pro treason has been "You're not telling us literally everything you know, exposing people in danger and giving us every relevant document! That's making it really hard to do pre emptive damage control and keeps exposing us as liars/making us backpedal and switch horses "

And on so many levels I don't get that as a defense...

Why does every detail involved in an ongoing inquiry/investigation need to be public? That literally never happens and accomplishes nothing.

Why should people whose lives would be in danger have their identites exposed? Even children know why Spiderman Dons a mask but conservative adults claim they dont get why there is no reason to needlessly expose whistleblowers?

For another, if new facts coming out expose that you are lying or that previous defenses dont make sense, why is that the fault of the facts and why should they reveal everything?

Shouldn't that make you mad at the Trump Administration? Not the facts?

Plus none of this us even a defense of what he did ... just getting mad about the way it's being exposed..

I just dont get it as a strategy or why conservatives support the logic.

A man accused of drug dealing and murder cant demand the police had over everything they have on him so he can get his story straight before they catch him up in lies.

And the US President needs to be held to a lower standard than a murderer?

This isn't the discovery stage of a court case, it would be pointless and gross misconduct to publicize everything at this stage
